The Preamble of the US Constitution

The Preamble (1787), is an introduction that includes the five pillars of the Constitution of the United States of America:“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America”.

For me, the Preamble is important to understand what the U.S. Government wants to achieve and how they want to protect the country and its people. Although the Preamble doesn’t give any powers to the Federal Government it gives an insight of what the Constitution is trying to achieve.


The video about the preamble that I have chosen is a School Rock House one. I remember my Dad used to play these videos for me when I was little and this one was the first one he showed me. I think that this video is good to learn about the basics of the preamble because since it has been created for kids (easy words, music in the background...) it helps you to remember about it.
